Sep. 2024 - Announcing New Logo!

Dear ESN Community,

We're reaching out with very exciting news today! As companies grow out of their infancy, it's common for their brands to evolve alongside. In passing through growing pains and celebratory milestones alike, a company's defining characteristics and personality, ever informed by their original mission and vision, become more established. As you may have gleaned, this is not unlike the growth of a child!

ESN has come a long way from our humble beginnings teaching 16 students in two trailers located in a church parking lot. We're now in the gorgeous, historic, Ross Elementary School building in East Nashville's unique and thriving community. We have 127 students, a wonderful staff, and an ever-growing community. We felt it was time to refresh our logo to reflect this evolution. We couldn't be more excited to reveal that to you now!

Thank you to Mind & Mill, who partnered with us to create our new logo and brand. As you can see, our colors are brighter and more saturated, the Purple Martin is flying upwards with wings outstretched, and our name is bolder. There's an overall sense of joy we feel perfectly encapsulates ESN. To put it simply, we're thrilled.

We know everyone (ourselves included) will be eager to get new clothes and accessories featuring the updated logo! Be sure to check back in here soon for new spirit gear!

Dear ESN Community,

We are thrilled to announce an exciting new development for the Episcopal School of Nashville. In direct response to the increasing demand from our community, we are launching a 3K program for the 2024-25 school year. This development marks a significant milestone in our commitment to nurturing young minds and hearts.

Program Highlights:

  • Full-Day Classes: We understand the importance of a consistent and engaging learning environment for our little ones. Our 3K program offers a full-day schedule, ensuring a well-rounded experience for each child.

  • Personalized Attention: A full time, dedicated teacher and assistant will allow for best practice and for our classroom to foster an intimate learning atmosphere, where we nurture the joy of learning and spirit of discovery every day. We are capping our class size at 12 students to ensure each child receives the developmentally-appropriate individual care and attention they deserve.

  • Eligibility Criteria: We welcome children who are 3 years old by August 15 and are fully potty trained to join our warm and inclusive Purple Martin Nest.

  • Seamless Transition into Early Childhood Education: This program is thoughtfully designed to feed into our existing Early Childhood program, known for its play-based, nurturing, and loving approach.

Join Us in Shaping a Brighter Future:

At Episcopal School of Nashville, we believe in creating a foundation of love, learning, and growth from the earliest stages. This new 3K program is a testament to our dedication to meeting the needs of our community and enriching the lives of our youngest members.

Jan. 2024 - Announcing New 3K Program!

Dear Purple Martin Community,

We are writing to share an important update about our school's strategic direction. After thorough analysis and thoughtful deliberation, the Board of Trustees voted last night to adopt a significant strategic shift for Episcopal School of Nashville.

Our current financial model has been carefully evaluated, and it is clear that changes are necessary for the long-term sustainability and success of our school. Therefore, we are transitioning to a 3K-6th grade model with a sunsetting middle school program.

We want to assure you that all current middle school students will have the opportunity to graduate from ESN as 8th graders. The current 5th grade class will graduate from ESN after 6th grade. This shift aligns with our facilities, where we see our greatest demand for admissions, and the entry and expansion points of Nashville's independent schools. While this pathway is designed to concentrate on families seeking a pathway to independent schooling, students will also be well prepared for success in local public and magnet schools.

This decision was not made lightly. We understand it represents a significant change for our community. However, this strategic shift will allow us to focus our resources on building a strong identity as the best Early Childhood and Elementary School in East Nashville. This will, in turn, feed into the best private middle and high schools in the area.

As we navigate this transition, our focus remains steadfast on our mission to nurture the spirit of discovery and joy of learning. We are dedicated to providing an education where students are well-prepared for their next educational stage. In line with this, we will restructure next year's 6th, 7th, and 8th grades into a two-teacher, two-section model.

Financially, this restructuring is projected to significantly reduce our fundraising requirements, allowing us to refocus our efforts to enhance our academic program. We also plan to bolster our revenue streams through Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) and a Summer Camp program, creating a financial buffer that enables us to invest more in our academic programs and capital projects.

We appreciate that change can be challenging, and we are dedicated to supporting our families throughout this transition. In the new year, we will be organizing meetings and forums to discuss these changes and to address any questions or concerns they may have.

We are confident that this strategic shift is a positive step forward for Episcopal School of Nashville. It will enable us to continue providing an exceptional educational experience while securing our financial future. We look forward to working together as a community to ensure the success of this new chapter for our school.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding, and please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly with any questions.
